Thomas R. Shane
founded Business Strategy Group in 1993, so he could leverage his combination of business, legal and entrepreneurial experience and skills. Business Strategy Group was named by Lawyer's Weekly as one of the top consulting groups in Boston. After graduating from Boston College, cum laude, Tom went on to obtain his JD from Suffolk Law School and his MBA from Babson College. Tom began his business career with Faded Glory, the company that introduced the concept of "fashion" jeans to the world. He was instrumental in both the establishment & management of the company. Tom was the co-founder, Vice Chairman, and General Counsel for Leading Edge Products, Inc., a pioneer in computer manufacturing that popularized the IBM clone strategy and which set the trend for the growth of the computer industry. In 1988, Tom founded Shane & Paolillo, P.C., at its peak a firm of 34 attorneys on both coasts, in which Tom specialized in corporate law. Tom now is also President & CEO of an affiliated company, The Lending Team, Inc., providing creative financing solutions in the commercial real estate market.  Tom also manages a unique fund which has achieved double-digit year-over-year results for over 20 years.

Jeff Swartz has 30 years of experience as an executive and entrepreneur in technology-based businesses and currently serves as the President of Hundsun Global Services, Inc., a provider of high-performance software development and go-to-market consulting services.   Jeff is the co-founder and former CEO/President of Current Analysis, Inc., the innovative and award-winning provider of competitive response information solutions to the world's leading telecommunications, IT, and business infrastructure software vendors. 

Prior to Current, Swartz was senior vice president with Giga Information Group in Cambridge, Mass., where he served on the management committee and was responsible for marketing, events, and research publications.  Giga was acquired by Forrester Research.   Before Giga, Swartz was employed by BIS Strategic Decisions, a former NYNEX subsidiary, acting as interim co-CEO in 1995 and filling a variety of executive management positions including senior vice president, Conferences and Publications Division (1994-1996) and senior vice president of Consulting (1992).   Jeff’s earlier background also includes the founding of a technology-oriented newsletter publishing company, Communications Publishing Group, Inc., which he managed from 1982 to 1986. Additionally, he conducted independent consulting in the advanced materials field from 1986 to 1989 and spent a year at an Arthur D. Little division, Decision Resources, Inc., where he was vice president of the Research Publishing Division.

In 2002 Jeff was a finalist in Ernst & Young's National Entrepreneur of the Year program.   Mr. Swartz earned a B.S. in psychology from Boston College
