Bob Norberg
Bob comes to BSG with over 20 years of experience and expertise in product management, product marketing, product development, IT, and operations in small and start-up company environments. Additionally, Bob brings a strong technical product background with experience in multiple product categories – software, content, SaaS, hardware, and service.
Bob most recently led product development, IT, and content operations at Current Analysis, a market leading competitive response solution to leading telecommunications, wireless, IT, and business infrastructure vendors. While at Current Analysis, Bob was responsible for transforming Current Analysis’s content platform, CurrentCOMPETE to better serve existing business, facilitate new growth, and establish a presence in mobile apps. Bob also was a lead member of the transition team for Current Analysis’s divestiture of its Consumer Electronics business unit to the NPD group.
Before Current Analysis, Bob led the worldwide product marketing efforts at Consul Risk Management, a Netherlands based security software vendor, who was later acquired by IBM. While at Consul, Bob launched Consul’s initial offering targeted at helping enterprises accelerate their Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA regulatory compliance efforts.
Prior to Consul, Bob was at Visual Networks, a leading network and application performance management solution for enterprises and service providers. Bob was one of the early hires in Visual’s startup stage and progressed to being responsible for multiple product lines and managing a team of product managers and product marketers. During his tenure, Visual went from startup to IPO and saw its core product revenue grow from initial revenue to over $60M in five years.
During his career, Bob has presented frequently at industry conferences and tradeshows and investment conferences and is the author of several articles in industry related trade magazines. Bob is the holder of US Patent number 5,867,483: “Method and Apparatus for Measurement of Peak Throughput in Packetized Data Networks”. He has a BSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a MBA from Duke University.
