Steve Garcia comes to BSG with over 20 years of executive experience and has worked in all areas of marketing and sales for over 35 years. Steve has focused on growing established businesses and building new businesses across multiple categories (pharmaceuticals, clothing, cereal, pet food, electronics, beverages, snacks). Additionally, he also has direct experience in all distribution and retail channels on a national, regional and market levels. Steve started his career at Coca Cola-Minute Maid and was directly involved in growing the $500 million Minute Maid Orange juice business to its highest share level in 40 years. He was also involved in new business acquisition at Coca Cola of a major regional pasta company and led a team to reorganize and sell that company in 2 years to Borden for double the price paid for it. Hired by Kraft he directed a sales and marketing team in revitalizing and increasing revenue by 35% across a three year tenure for a regional value added dairy business. As an entrepreneur, Steve started his own national marketing agency in 1993 and built a team of professionals (HQ based in Dallas) who work with Fortune 100 clients (Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, Samsung, Coca Cola, Kellogg's, Frito Lay to name a few). Steve has grown the company into a multimillion dollar agency with a team of 15 professionals who create, develop and execute results driven campaigns for their clients. His marketing experience spans across many industries, including an awareness campaign for the Census Bureau which focused on hard-to-count areas and resulted crucial enumeration. Steve holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Arizona as well as a M.S. in Demography from University of Wisconsin.
